Litterally sparked by a dream, Salmon Arm based alternative rock musician Aimie Laws, set forth the "Only Human" Rock for MS Tour on May 25th. Joined by Thorny Bleeder Recording artists Columbia, Vancouver hip hop artist Furthermore and long time friend Nicole Comis, along with tour manger Ben Stewart, the group held 9 events in British Columbia performing with the intentions to educate, promote and raise funds for the MS Society of Canada. Other supporting artists include Versus The Nothing, Shannon Beth Ireland, Immaculate, City of Sparks, Grim Hymn and the Horrors, Ashley Dempster, and Sasha Lewis.
Hitting the communities of Penticton, Kelowna, Vernon, Armstrong, Enderby, Kamloops, Vancouver and Salmon Arm, the crew didn't really know what to expect. Finding a strong connection with fans and new friends along the way everyone involved found themselves humbled, listening to stories of how others are touched by the disease, regardless of age. Although the success in the tour is measured by the group more on the feedback and the educational factor than the amount of money raised, they have brought in a total of $3,645.57 for the charity itself.
Interest has been sparked in the possibility of doing the tour again in the future, hopefully building on its success and educating even more people and raising even more funds.
