FREDERICTON -- East Coast blues artist Ross Neilsen might sing the blues but he sure does have a lot to be happy about lately. With a successful solo acoustic tour wrapped up only days ago, Neilsen is smiling ear to ear as he announces the signing of a distribution deal with Thorny Bleeder Records, based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Staying true to his compulsive overachiever reputation, Neilsen is celebrating with a 40 date national tour! While the ink dries on a deal that will have Thorny Bleeder Records distributing Early Grave (Neilsen’s sophomore release), throughout Canada, Neilsen barely has time to relish the thought of national distribution as he switches gears from acoustic story teller to electric guitar-wielding, primal growling, blues rocker.

“Thorny Bleeder Records is proud to announce we have just signed blues-rock phenom Ross Neilsen for an upcoming release of the album Early Grave,” said Brian Thompson, Managing Partner of Thorny Bleeder Records. “Ross has everything it takes to make an impact on the blues scene - raw talent, great songs, a passion for non-stop touring, and an unparalleled work ethic. We're extremely excited to be a part of Ross's team and to help expose his music to a much deserved wider audience.”

Currently, Neilsen is rehearsing his band, The Sufferin' Bastards, for their second national tour in just over six months. The 40 date tour kicks off on at The Snooty Fox Pub this Thursday, April 16 in Neilsen’s hometown of Fredericton, New Brunswick. The band will dish out Neilsen’s brand of high energy blues rock at more than 40 venues, in seven provinces, over nine weeks. As always, Neilsen leaves no stone unturned, performing at venues as diverse as the esteemed Yale Hotel in Vancouver to sharing the stage with the Black Crowes at Fredericton’s own Fredrock Festival. A very special acoustic show is also set for Penticton, BC. From Nova Scotia to Nanaimo, Osoyoos to Ontario, there are ample stops for his fans to get another dose of the hardest working man in Bluesville.

Building his fan base the old fashioned way, Neilsen tours relentlessly - racking up an impressive 150 to 200 shows per year. Whether he is performing in small clubs for 50 people or festival tents filled with thousands, each show presents the same challenge and the same opportunity to Neilsen: Another chance to win over one more fan in the audience. Building their fan base one set of ears at a time, Ross Neilsen & The Sufferin' Bastards deliver a show filled with screaming guitars, passionate vocals, and a rhythm section so tight and intense you would think they were on loan from the Devil's house band.

Combining clever lyrics with old school, guitar-hero-style guitar playing, Neilsen has
secured himself as the real deal among both peers and fans alike. Drawing from Neilsen’s catalogue of original compositions, Ross Neilsen & The Sufferin' Bastards will take the audience on an emotional journey through the joys and pains of life, death, triumph and defeat. Neilsen will touch your heart, soul, body and mind, sending you home to sing yourself to sleep. And in the morning…you will remember. You will believe. This is real music, honest and true. Music born out of real life for real people.
