Farewell To The Painted Birds

The trials, tribulations, struggles, and the ups and downs of being an independent artist in the new milenium have taken its toll on yet another band who showed great potential for making a name for themselves. Vancouver's The Painted Birds announced on their blog this morning that the band has called it quits after hinting towards this announcement in a recent Facebook posting which said they were playing their very last show.
The Painted Birds are featured on our Get Thorny 2 free album download with their single Wash Away. Listen to their very last recorded song below while you read their goodbye blog posting.
Best of luck guys and thanks for the music...hopefully this won't be the last music we hear from each of you.

The Uncharted Waves radio show at SUNY College At Old Westbury (OWWR campus radio) in New York just did a massive feature on Thorny Bleeder Records and our recently released free album download Get Thorny 2. We can't thank them enough for the huge show of support and for digging the music we're putting out!

It’s The Bleeder Blog’s One Year Anniversary!
Yup, this blog and website has been up and running for a full year now, so it’s time to celebrate with some free new music, woohoo!
When we launched The Bleeder Blog in December 2008, we did it alongside a free album download, titled Get Thorny. It featured sixteen tracks by sixteen up and coming independent artists, and the response was overwhelming. In the past year we’ve had thousands and thousands of music fans from all over the world download the compilation and fall in love with some new artists which they probably would never of had the chance of hearing before.
So now we’re doing it again with Get Thorny 2. Seventeen tracks from seventeen amazing independent artists in glorious 320 kbps MP3 high fidelity.
