This week's featured artist from our Get Thorny 3 freebie download compilation (get it here) is our very own boys from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan... The Rebellion. The track you're listening to above is a brand new track for 2011 that is only available on Get Thorny 3... a Thorny Bleeder exclusive!
Expect to hear a lot more from these guys in the coming months. A brand new album is now complete and ready to roll, with plans for a late Spring release. There will also be a new video or two, a new (old) tour bus, and lots of miles on the road as they take their show to as many towns and cities as possible. The band also recently finished recording a live performance broadcast for a CBC Radio special called The Cold Road (air date has yet to be announced).
2011 should be a breakout year for these boys. The Rebellion has only begun!

The Rebellion Begin Recording New Album

It's been awhile since we've posted an update from the guys in The Rebellion, but good things come to those who wait. After finishing up some spring touring earlier this year, lead singer/guitarist/keyboardist Josh Palmer took some time off to travel Europe. After returning home the lads jumped right into the studio to start tracking for their next album.
Lucky for us they had video camera rolling. Check out the video below for an exclusive sneak peak into a brand new song from The Rebellion (to be released sometime in 2011).

A slew of Thorny Bleeder Records artists will be hitting the road and travelling across the country in March, with many gigs booked between Vancouver and Quebec.
More dates are being booked almost daily, so join your favourite band's Facebook fan page and watch out for a live show near you.

On Tuesday, December 29, Thorny Bleeder Records releases Time, the remixed and remastered debut album from The Rebellion. The album features the first single Dr. Don’t.
To some, Josh Palmer may look familiar to you. Palmer is a former Canadian Idol contestant from 2005. In just over a decade, Palmer has gone from child prodigy to Canadian celebrity. He toured across the nation from coast to coast by the time he was 17, released independent solo albums, and was watched by 3.5 million people each week on Canadian Idol. But after leaving the Canadian Idol stage, Palmer was frustrated with not being able to showcase himself as a real artist.
Rather than continue on the course of doing another solo album, Palmer decided it was time to start a new band. He recruited Romanian multi-instrumentalist Silviu Moldovan on guitar, Congolese percussionist Christian Kongawi on drums, and Ryan Schultz on bass.
