THORNY BLEEDER RECORDS RELEASES FREE MP3 ALBUM DOWNLOAD, NEW WEBSITE AND ARTIST SERVICES DIVISION
DECEMBER 15, 2008 (VANCOUVER, BC) --
Vancouver’s Thorny Bleeder Records officially releases a new website on Monday Dec. 15th, nicknamed The Bleeder Blog, at www.thornybleeder.com. The site features a free download of a sixteen song mp3 album titled, “Get Thorny”.
The free album includes buzz band Art Of Dying, currently on tour with multi-platinum artist Disturbed. Also featured on the compilation are Southern Death Threat, Incura, Burning Borders, The Turn, Yuca, Versus The Nothing, TV Heart Attack, Kill Rhythm, The Sessions, Sweetheart, A.M. Glory (formerly Raise The Sail), Quartered, Savannah, Over The Coals, and Cosmedic.
The Bleeder Blog plans to evolve into a network of online record labels, music blogs and artists serving up free music downloads on a regular basis, regardless of whether or not a band is signed directly to the label or not.
“We recognize that being a part of a community is one of the single most important factors in developing new artists today.” says Brian Thompson, Managing Partner of Thorny Bleeder Records. “Our goal is to create an online destination for rock fans to get turned on to new music. With the demise of record stores, music fans are finding it hard to replace their local music shop as a trusted resource to discover new music. The Bleeder Blog and our unique artist collective is here to help.”
Thorny Bleeder Records has also launched a new Artist Services division. “We’re a new kind of 'Record Label Replacement Company',” Brian jokes, “offering a range of services to replace the old-fashioned style of a record deal. We’re here to help new bands have their music heard by the public, without having to wait and be discovered by the increasingly tight and inward looking circles of the music industry.”
"A lot of bands and artists feel it's hard to get interest from record labels due to the fiscally restrained state that most labels are in, they’re playing it very safe. Artists need to surround themselves with a dedicated and informed team to help them navigate the world of monetizing possibilities." Brian says.
CEO Jonny Hetherington adds, "People think it's impossible to have a successful music career without a major label. Thorny Bleeder is here to show aspiring artists that by partnering with a helping hand on the business side of their music career, exposure will follow. To be successful you need to build a team of experienced professionals, and that’s exactly what Thorny Bleeder offers. "
Thorny Bleeder Records provides the tools necessary for artists to level the playing field in today’s competitive music market. For a range of low fees, artists can have Thorny Bleeder handle everything that a traditional label would normally take care of. Artists are able to select from a menu of individual services such as management, distribution, consultation, radio promotion, publicity, song licensing, grant applications, merchandise management, website development, online marketing, duplication, video editing, and EPK production.
“There’s a real problem with a lack of development and nurturing for new talent in todays marketplace. Thorny Bleeder Records is here to help close that gap.” Thompson explains. “We’re an innovative music company of the future, embracing technology. the culture of file-sharing, and turning it into a profitable venture for everyone involved.”
