FROM VANCOUVER’S ROCK 101 WEBSITE:

Once upon a time, a long time ago, music was played from hard vinyl discs. The discs were purchased from record stores in elaborately and painstakingly designed sleeves. The true music experience culminated in the spinning of records at 33 1/3 rpms.

At Classic Rock 101 (CFMI), we fondly remember the days of playing “Stacks of Wax” so we’re embracing the turntable revolution and inviting Vancouver’s audiophiles to go on the record!

Fridays in 2009, we’re taking Robin LaRose and the Dean & Hatch Show out on the road for vinyl only broadcasts.

We’ll set up our turntables and mobile studio at iconic Metro Vancouver locations (heritage record shops, landmarks, etc.) and we’d love you to join us with your records in hand. We’ll talk to record aficionados and music freaks young and old about the music and the experience of spinning albums again.

And we want to roll out the records with you at your place! Tell us why we should bring our rolling record party to spin your stacks of wax and we’ll roll out the whole dog and pony show. To your warehouse. Frat house. Farm house, doghouse…
